Dáin Ironfoot is a significant Dwarf character in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle Earth legendarium, most prominently featured in *The Hobbit*. He is a renowned warrior and leader of the Dwarves of the Iron Hills.

Dáin first appears in *The Hobbit* as he arrives with a large force of heavily armed Dwarves to aid Thorin Oakenshield and his company. His arrival dramatically changes the dynamics of the conflict at the Lonely Mountain.

He is known for his courage and fierce determination. After Thorin's death, Dáin becomes King Dáin II of the Longbeard Dwarves, ruling from Erebor.
